An Original Leadership and Talent Development Model · 2025
Leadership Frameworks
Developed as part of The Olympians Leadership Academy, the 4R Framework reflects an intentional approach to leadership and talent development, grounded in the belief that meaningful development begins with purposeful design.
The framework establishes four interconnected pillars—READY, RAISED, RETAINED, and RISING—to provide structure and direction for developing leadership capabilities across different stages of professional growth.
Rather than treating leadership development as a collection of independent training activities, the 4R Framework emphasizes the intentional alignment of foundational learning, practical application, continued development, and opportunities for advancement.
Supported by the Academy's original leadership modules, the framework illustrates how thoughtfully designed learning experiences can contribute to a broader, connected approach to leadership development.
The Four Pillars
READY
Foundational Leadership Readiness
Establishes the foundational knowledge, skills, and behaviors that support leadership readiness and prepare individuals for continued development.
RAISED
Leadership Identity and Capability
Focuses on strengthening leadership confidence, clarity, and capability as individuals prepare to navigate broader responsibilities.
RETAINED
Continued Development and Engagement
Emphasizes the importance of reinforcement, ongoing development, and organizational support in sustaining leadership capability.
RISING
Leadership Growth and Advancement
Connects continued capability development with preparation for expanded responsibilities and opportunities for professional advancement.
The Instructional Foundation
The 4R Framework is supported by the original leadership development modules designed for The Olympians Leadership Academy.
These modules provide the instructional foundation for developing leadership knowledge, strengthening essential capabilities, and connecting learning with practical application.
Through intentional design, the framework and its supporting modules were structured to create continuity between foundational readiness, continued leadership development, and preparation for greater responsibility.
The original Core Leadership Modules and Continual Leadership Modules are documented in the Academy Portfolio.
